So this is inspired by/stolen from early 60s lesbian pulp fiction paperbacks. Most of them had amazingly camp, straight-male fantasy kind of covers. That alone wouldn’t be very interesting, but these books also helped define a lesbian identity at a time well before the LGBT movement was a thing. So basically kick-starting a gay movement under the guise of making straight men horny. Which is exactly my kind of humor.
Anyway, I originally wanted to paint this in that 60s realistic poster painting sort of style but then ran out of talent. So this will have to do. It’s roughly 1.5m by 2.5m, acrylic on linen. It looks a bit better in person but not very much.
