self-developed nudity
A friend of mine wanted to learn how to do film development, but obviously before you can develop something, you’ll have to shoot something first. And what she shot, I think, turned out just phantastic – proving that you should throw away all your gear and get new eyes instead, because this was all done…

8mm home movies
This is the much older regular (or “double”) 8, not super 8. It’s basically 16 mm film that goes through the camera twice and then is split after development into two runs of 8 mm film. This is on Fomapan R100 (reversal film) which is the only new film readily available in the format. I’d…

Color for the Mimosa
That worked out super well – and even the wildlife was cooperating. It’s not so easy to shoot birds with a fixed 50mm lens, normally. But I also really like the look of these, there’s something vaguely vintage about them (softness around the edges and things) but it’s not overpowering. So ya, the little Mimosa…

Lumennarcissism
Forgot to put this on the website even though I look pretty hot in it. It’s a lumen print from a digital negative of a digital photo shot by a wonderful analog friend. In other words – I converted a photo to negative, printed that on a transparency, and then put that on top of…

The 1949 Mimosa II
Is a just wonderful cube shaped little thing. There isn’t much online about this camera, and there really isn’t much to talk about in terms of features. It’s a basic 35mm viewfinder, there’s nothing special about it – except for its shape. And the physical thing itself is just beautiful. It’s very well made, feels…

ORWO in the sun
Had another go at shooting some expired ORWO film, this time a NP 20. It was in better condition than the other one I had – but it still has that slightly greyish rendering to it. Though I don’t know, could also just be me holding my camera different when I know I have the…

pinhole photography
Is fun! Also today is world pinhole day, apparently, so I’ve built a little camera. Actually quite a big camera, about 40x40x25cm. It’s basically a falling plate camera, with the paper negatives attached to 8 cardboard “plates” in the back, which are then manually pushed forward to fall down into the camera body after each…

self portraits with mirror and chair
The more I do of these, the more I am amazed by people who do this as an art form. Francesca Woodman obviously first and foremost but there are others I find amazing, like Shelbie Dimond. It’s very difficult to do well, especially without mirrors. Focusing is just a chore, composition is basically total guesswork,…

Graveyard shift
with my Contax. Which has shutter problems at the higher speeds but still works like new at 1/250 and below. It’s fun how small and ergonomic it feels, after shooting with the Plaubel Makina. All on Ilford HP5+, scanned negatives.

Aluminium Drypoint Postcards
I haven’t done much to this plate since the last print but I think these are my favorites so far. I wiped off much less paint this time so it’s all a bit more grubby looking – I like that much more than the cleaner looking prints. These are not without defects but then again…
