Somewhere in Vienna. Which *is* pretty but idk, something was missing there for me. I’d rather have new looking people in old looking buildings than the other way around. Bratislava has that right, Prague too. There are probably parts of Vienna that don’t look like they got renovated by a hedge-fund last week but I haven’t found them. It’s all very obviously nice looking, except for the parts that are equally obviously just for poor people – and if i wanted that contrast I’d just go to Charlottenburg.
The one place I found a little bit fun was the Prater, because – well it’s really just a sort of run-down amusement park. And that’s kinda it? The famous Vienna Prater. Just such a stupid place, it’s sort of amazing. I don’t even know what I expected but what I got was basically a place with all the charm of a furniture store parking lot, with a café and a ferris wheel.
This review written after two days in Vienna as a tourist with no sense of direction, so it shouldn’t be taken too seriously. Guess I just stumbled around the wrong places. But man does Vienna have a lot of wrong places.
