Though not sure if it makes a huge difference in this case because this was with a 300 W incandescent light bulb. Would probably have looked similar in the visible spectrum. I’ve also managed to only burn my arm once so that’s good and professional.
Some people manage to do these kinds of self portrait things on film and I have no idea how they do it. Even digitally, and with self-timers that can take more than one picture, this is an enormous hassle and has like a 1% success rate. Obviously my own definition of “success”, but what other definition would there be.
Pretty happy with these though, the further away from the usual “oh all the grass is white now” IR photography one can get, the better.
Camera things: Olympus OM-D E10 Mark III but without the IR filter, a cheap “Meike” 25 mm/f1.8 lens, and a 720 nm IR high-pass … no wait that’s low pass? whatever, it looks black, you know the kind …filter. On SD card. Sadface.
